Obituary

Somersworth- Lionel A Couture (88) born February 25, 1932 has joined the love of his life Arline T. (Boucher) Couture in heaven, on January 29, 2021.
Lionel will be remembered as a strong, respected and loved man not only by his family but by all who knew him.
Lionel was a circuit stock car driver for his father Nash Couture who built the cars and won many races in Maine and NH.
Lionel was a Sergeant in the Army and in charge of training new recruits during the Korean War.  After returning home from the Army he was employed by Murphy Roofing Co.
Lionel graduated from Babson College police academy in MA.  He received several recommendations and awards throughout his 20 years of police service.  He retired from the Somersworth Police Department as Deputy Chief.  He also served as a bailiff for the Strafford County Superior Court.
Lionel is pre deceased by his parents Alfred (Nash) and Jessie (Kerr) Couture , five brothers and two sisters.
Lionel is survived by his three daughters Linda Stacy and Wayne, Diana Edgecomb and Tim and Cheryl LaPanne and Peter, four grandchildren Todd, Chad, Jenny and Derek and eight great grandchildren.
