Kittery, Maine – Lois B. Johnson, 89, of Kittery, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the York Hospital in York, Maine.
She was born on December 10, 1925 in Biddeford, Maine a daughter of Carleton and Bertha (Lane) Banks. She was a graduate of Biddeford High School and attended Westbrook Junior College.
In her earlier years, Lois was employed as a bookkeeper and involved with sales at the family Studebaker Dealership; was a dietician at the Former Webber Hospital in Biddeford and later retired from the Office of Personnel Management in Portsmouth. She was a member of the Church at Spruce Creek and the Kittery Point Baptist Church; The Gideon's International Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star where she was matron at ADAH Chapter 1.
Lois shared a 45- year marriage with her loving husband Robert B.Johnson who predeceased her on November 20, 2015. Other survivors include her children, Carlton E. Burnham, Dr. Beverly A. Morrow, and Arline E. Sherman; her four stepchildren Christopher B. Johnson, Victoria L. Davis, Daryl P. Johnson and Robin Q. Johnson; grandchilden, Kimberly Baker, Jill Burnham, Danette Burnham, James Sherman Jr, Jennifer Sherman, Robert E. Morrow III and Carleton D. Morrow, Jeremy and Gregory Davis, Stephen, Brandon, Jason, David and Daniel Johnson, Dianne Breska; several great grandchildren; her sister, Barbara B. Hamor.
Services: A Celebration of Life for both Lois and her husband, Robert will be held at 12 noon on Monday, November 30th at the Church at Spruce Creek, Wilson Road, Kittery, with a time of visitation one hour prior from 11am – 12noon. A time of refreshments and fellowship will be held immediately following the service in the parish hall.
