Portsmouth- Lorraine Yvette ( Montmarquet , Cutting) Jette , 87, of Portsmouth, N.H., passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 after a long period of failing health. Lorraine was born in Manchester, N.H. on September 23, 1931 to her parents, Julien and Marie (St. Laurent) Montmarquet .

She graduated from Central High School in Manchester. She married Roy H. Cutting Jr. and they lived in Manchester until they moved to Portsmouth and raised their children.

Lorraine was a strong, dedicated mother who volunteered throughout her life. She was involved in Scouts, school activities, Audobon Society and Salvation Army to name a few. She was also an active member of St. Catherine's Church of Portsmouth.

She worked as a preschool teacher at Country Nursery School for many years and she was also an Administrative Assistant at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until she retired.

Her husband Roy passed away in 1981. She then married David Jette in 1984. Although they married late in life they had 32 years together during which they enjoyed traveling together and family times. Family was important to her and she always had time for her grandchildren who spent summers in her care. She was loved her great grandchildren too. She loved to sew, craft, read and work in her gardens. She was a kind, caring person who was loved by many.

She was predeceased by her parents Marie and Julien Montmarquet , her siblings Robert Montmarquet , Russell Montmarquet , Annette Guy and her son Michael R. Cutting and granddaughter Elizabeth Cutting.

She is survived by her sister Claire Jacques of Manchester, N.H., her children Jeffrey Cutting and wife Roberta of Eliot Maine, Michelle M. Brock and husband Richard of Georgetown, Massachusetts and daughter-in-law Angelita Cutting of Claremont, New Hampshire. Her grandchildren include Melissa (Cutting) Matias and husband Noel, Kristine (Cutting) Smith and husband Justin, Julie (Cutting) Kelly and husband Darren, Patricia Cutting, Victoria (Cutting) Jackson , Benjamin Brock, Jonathan Brock and Zachary Brock . She had four great-grandchildren.

Visiting Hours are to be held at JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, ME on Thursday, October 11 from 5:00-7:00pm.
