Rochester - Lorraine E. (Lagueux) Vanasse, 91, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester. She was born on August 27, 1923 in Somersworth, a daughter of the late Joseph and Adeliann (Bolduc) Lagueux and attended the former St. Martin's Academy. Lorraine was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, an avid volunteer including the Holy Rosary Mission & Bereavement committees; a Third Order Franciscan; former member of the Ladies Guild of St. Peter's Church in Farmington; and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger on March 9, 1992; her brothers, Wilfred, Leo, Ronald, Raymond, Armand and Ralph Lagueux; three sisters, Laurette Maxfield, Beatrice Deschesnes and Rita Larochelle - Newbury. Survivors include her four children, Corinne Brundage and husband Lawrence of Milford, David Vanasse of Alfred, ME, Daniel Vanasse and wife Susan of Dover and Andre Vanasse and wife Cathy of Wells, ME; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Wake will be held from 6-8PM with a prayer service at 6 PM on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main Street, Rochester. Celebrant will be Fr. Paul M. Gousse. Interment will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery later in the spring.
