Kittery- Lucy E. Anderson, 87 formerly a long time resident of Government Street in Kittery died on May 22, 2017 at Kennebunk Care and Rehabilitation.
Born in York Maine on October 26, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Elizabeth Anderson, she attended local schools graduating from York High School.
She lived for many years in Portsmouth before settling in Kittery in the late 1980's.
Lucy was a well known trainer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard working with the apprenticeship program for many of the over thirty five years she was there.
Lucy celebrated life as a lifetime volunteer working with many organizations including the Portsmouth Little League where she spent countless hours for many years as the secretary for the organization. She enjoyed many years at the Connie Bean Center in Portsmouth giving of her time and founded the very successful Toys for Tots program on the Shipyard, making Christmas special for many families.
Lucy is survived by her son Jon Frank Anderson of Portsmouth, grandchildren Christopher Anderson and his wife Laura and Matthew Anderson, great grandchildren Madison and Mason, and a daughter in law Nanci Anderson. She was predeceased by her son Christopher T. Anderson Sr , brothers Arnie and James and a sister Julia
