KITTERY, Maine - Mae V. Pearson, 91, formerly a longtime resident of the family farm on Wilson Road in Kittery died on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Clipper Harbor of Portsmouth.
Born in Aspo, Sweden, on August 28, 1924, she was a daughter of Alban and Anna Olson. She came to the U.S. with her family in 1937 and met Robert Nelson Pearson and would be married in 1944.
Together they made a home on their farm on Wilson Road where they would raise their family. Mae was a well known rural route carrier for the Kittery Post office for over twenty years, having the largest rural route in the state for many years.
Mae dearly enjoyed her gardens throughout her property and loved her animals over the years. She was a founder of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newington and was an active member in her younger years.
She is survived by her loving family, son, R. Nelson Pearson, Jr., and his wife Kim of Kittery; daughter, Gail and her husband Philip Burns of Kittery; brother, Stig Olson and nephew Gary Olson of Arlington, Mass, grandchildren Gabriel and Adam and his wife Casey Pearson; and great grandchildren Poppy and Piper Pearson.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Nelson Pearson in 2008.
SERVICES: A funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904. Online condolences may be made by visiting:
