Margaret (Peggy) Marquis passed away unexpectedly on April 12th. She was born July 10, 1939 in Torrington, Connecticut to John and Margaret Cisowski. She graduated from Torrington High School. She lived in Dover, Delaware on the Air Force base with her former husband, Albert Marquis, until moving to Burrville, Connecticut to raise their five children. She worked at the local restaurant and the two room schoolhouse as a teacher's aide. The family moved to Kittery, Maine in 1980. She worked as a cook for many years at Mrs. and Me restaurant and then for The Children's Center daycare. She also worked for Hannaford in the deli department in York.
She was predeceased by her parents and her former husband.
She is survived by her brother and his wife, John and Karen Cisowski, of Torrington, CT, her five children, Suzette Batchelder and partner Frank of Kittery, Maine, Dennis Marquis and partner Lynn of Kittery, Maine, Glen Marquis of Eliot, Maine, Brian Marquis and wife Lynn of Glastonbury, CT, and Lynn McPherson and her husband Jamie of Eliot, Maine.
She will also be missed by her grandchildren; Justin and Katelynn Marquis, Chantal(Marquis)Mancuso, Kyle Marquis, Chelsea and Sarah Marquis, and Samuel and Joseph McPherson. She loved her six great grandchildren Tyler, Vienna, and Max Mancuso, James
Marquis, Starann Stacy, and Cora Plaza.
She lived her last years of life at the Residence of Eliot Commons where she loved and had many friends. She enjoyed going for her daily walks and Monday and Thursday night gatherings in the Community room where she chatted with friends for hours. She enjoyed going for rides
along the beach and up to the Nubble Lighthouse and going for ice cream.
Burial will be at Brooks Memorial Cemetery in Eliot, Maine at the convenience of the family.
Donations in her memory may be made to Footprints Food Pantry at 37 Old Post Road in Kittery, Maine.
