Obituary

Marian D. Clough passed away May 16, 2018 in Kittery, ME surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born in Kittery , August 6, 1927, the daughter of All a n L. and Ella M. (Williams) Barker. She was raised and educated in Kittery, graduating from R. W. Traip Academy in 1944.

Marian and Earl lived briefly in Kittery and Portsmouth's South End before building a home at 1187 Sagamore Avenue , Portsmouth, where they lived, and raised their daughter Sandra, for over 50 years.

Marian worked throughout her adult life, employed as a telephone operator, book keeper, bank teller and sales associate .

Marian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and James Wakefield of York, Sister Betty Kraft of Kittery, grandson James and wife Jennifer Wakefield of South Berwick, grandson Michael and wife Rachel Wakefield also of South Berwick, great granddaughter Hayden Wakefield , great grandson Samuel Wakefield , and step great grandsons Malcolm and Will Connell. She is also survived by cousins Marcia and Ken Fernald of Greenland and Florida, niece s Donna Barker of Hampton and Brenda Crouse of Kittery and nephew Robert Kraft, Jr. also of Kittery. Marian was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Earl, a brother David W. Barker and niece Judy (Barker) Smalley .

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Durgin Pines in Kittery, ME for the exceptional care given Maria n during her final weeks. We especially want to thank Nurses Juliette and Emily for their understanding, love and compassion given to Marian and her family.

Marian was a devoted wife, mother and loving nana, sister, cousin, and great Grammy . She will be greatly missed.

Services: A v isiting hour will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p m on May 23, 2018 at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home , 125 Old Post Rd Kittery, ME 03904. The f uneral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p m . Interment will follow the service at Brook's Memorial Cemetery, Eliot, ME.
