Obituary

Eliot- Marian B. Lippincott, also known as "Meb" and "Morning", of River Road in Eliot, passed away unexpectedly on May 28th, 2021 at her home surrounded by family, She was 86 years young.

Born in Canton, Ohio on September 11th, 1934, she was the daughter of Ivan and Ernestine Ball. She was raised in Stockport she was an honor graduate of Lincoln High School in 1951. She then attended Ohio State University on one of their Scholarships designed to interest young persons in the teaching profession. She was active in the vocational information council, Strollers Dramatic Club and Gamma Phi Beta Social Sorority.

Marian was employed by the government as a kindergartner teacher on Ramey USAF base Puerto Rico right after graduating college. This is where Marian met her future husband, John Lippincott, who was at time a First Lieutenant in the Airforce.  Next thing you know, John and Marian were getting married, and remained devoted to each other for 65 years.  This year would have made 66 years together, on October 28th, 2021. She wrapped up her kindergartner teaching career at Ellsworth USAF base in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Marian oversaw many wives' groups, all while being a stay-at-home spouse while John was moving up ranks in the Airforce. She was very well known for her dinner parties and functions.

In 1982 Marian became a financial advisor for IDS; and after 30 years retired from the company, as a financial advisor for Ameriprise Financial Advisors.  She held a very large client base and was extremely proud when she made it as a Silver advisor!  After retiring from being a financial advisor she ran The Farmstead Bed & Breakfast alongside John for 33 years, which they opened in Eliot, Maine in 1986.

Marian entered a float for many years under the Farmstead Bed & Breakfast into the Eliot Festival Day Parade. They always wound up winning one of the top three spots in that division, all with the help of her grandkids & great grandkids!

Marian was an Avon lady for a brief period, but long enough, so she could accumulate a ton of Avon make up and get herself a pink car. Honestly, to this day we still find her makeup here and there!!  😊

She was part of the United Methodist Foundation Group, in Massachusetts. She also, for a brief time, attended The Village Baptist Church of Kennebunkport, Maine.

Marian was a Sunday school teacher at the Eliot United Methodist Church, that John and she helped build, shortly after moving to Eliot in 1980. She oversaw refreshments, for many years at the Eliot UMC. She loved to decorate their sanctuary and refreshment hall for functions and holidays with her great grandsons, Tyler and Mykel John.

Marian was also an avid shopper. If you sent her to find something, she not only found it, but she would find it at the best deal possible! She seriously should have had a VIP pass for Marshall's, TJMaxx, Christmas Shop & HomeGoods! No joke!!!

Boy, did she love Angels, Butterflies AND HER Elvis!! She went to every Elvis impersonator show in the area that God allowed her to go too!!

She loved her unsweetened iced tea with lemon.

Marian loved to garden and plant flowers.  She had her own butterfly garden at the Farmstead. We tried to recreate the garden for her, but our thumbs are not the greenest! We will miss her so much in that department!

She loved bird watching every morning. She would tell us when the bird feeder was empty, which birds came to eat that morning, and which ones looked unhappy with the food selection. She was funny like that, always making sure we were on top of taking care of the birds.

Marian loved her Apollo. He will dearly miss her.  Her 4-legged buddy; her other great grandson as she put it.  He knows she is not here.  I do believe he is sad, as he lays by her cane or walker, sighing near her spot on the couch. We just tell him "We know poppies; we miss her too".

Marian held many titles in her 86 years of her life, but above all others she loved being a mother, the younger sister, a cousin, an aunt, and great aunt.

She loved being a grandmother to Andréa Druart, and her partner Daniel Paulin; Melissa Druart, who resides in Eliot; and Jeremy Druart who lives in Belgium.  Her favorite title was being a great-grandmother to Tyler, Mykel John Druart and Ryley Ivan Druart Paulin, all of Eliot; Drystan Druart, of Belgium; Madison Paulin, of Virginia; and Logan Paulin, of New Hampshire.

Marian was predeceased by both her parents, Ivan and Ernestine Ball; daughters, Nelinda A. Reedy, and Janey H. Lippincott; great grandson, Kyle JK Druart Paulin; brother, Douggie Ball; and niece, Katha Bloomer.

We never had a chance to discuss donation, but she loved to donate her time. We decided in lieu of flowers, to please donate to her church, which helps so many organizations. Checks can be made payable to "Eliot UMC"; their address is:
