Marie Cashman Barry passed away peacefully on Sunday January 13, 2014 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 28, 1922 in Lynn, MA to Joseph and Martina (Barry) Cashman Following graduation from Lynn English High School, she worked for a short time at the G.E. Plant in west Lynn, MA before relocating to Somersworth, NH in 1947 to raise her family. She was a devoted and supportive mother who took great pride in following the accomplishments of her grandchildren. Her passions were surrounding herself with family and friends listening to Irish folk music. She was predeceased by Eugene Barry her husband of 64 years who passed away in 2008, her brothers, Frank Cashman and John Cashman of Lynn, MA, a sister, Alice Hames of Peabody, MA and a grandson, Richard Evvard of Rochester, NH Family members include: her sons, Kevin Barry and wife Susan of Somersworth, NH Brian Barry of Dover, NH and Terrence Barry of Somersworth, NH, her daughters, Sharon Barry and Suzanne Evvard both of Rochester, NH and her grandchildren, Kristen Barry of Santa Monica, CA, Jason Barry and his wife Laura of Dover, NH and Caitlin Evvard of Portsmouth, NH The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Frisbie Memorial Hospital 2E for their extraordinary care and sensitivity during our mother s stay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday January 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Church with Rev. Michael S. Taylor, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be this spring in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somersworth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
