KITTERY - Marie Cecile Gyurko died unexpectantly in her home in Kittery, Maine, on April 2, 2018. She will be missed immensely by all her family and friends.

Marie grew up in Watertown, Conneticut. After meeting, and marrying Nelson Gyurko, they moved to Maine, where she lived the rest of her life.  Marie had a love for the ocean.  She worked many years on a lobster boat. Later in life she spent many days on her boat fishing and taking trips with her family. Marie spent over 20 years working at Sears, where she retired from just a few years ago.

Marie had many passions including gardening, cooking and sewing; but her favorite moments were when she spent time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years Nelson Gyurko; her brother, Charles Cotnoir of Martha's Vineyard; her two daughters, Tina Bertrand and her husband John Bertrand of Rochester NH, Lisa Gyurko and her partner Rudy Sawyer of Buxton, Maine; and her four grandchildren, Donovan and Tianna Bertrand, Ella and Leah Sawyer.

Services: Friends may visit with Marie's family on Monday, April 9,  from 4-6pm at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery.
