Marie J. (Hurd) Tremblay, 77, of Holden, MA and formerly a longtime resident of New Castle and Portsmouth, NH passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the loving company of her children and grandson.

Marie was raised in Claremont, NH by her parents Arthur and Julia (Hamel) Hurd, who both predeceased her.  She was the widow of David Walker Tremblay, who she married on June 9, 1962.

She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Tremblay and grandson Jameson Tremblay, both of Holden and by her son, David Tremblay and his partner Mollie Sanders of Portsmouth NH. She is also survived by her brother Maurice Hurd and his wife Marie of Claremont.  Marie leaves behind beloved cousins, Ann Marie Bouthot of Eliot, ME and Frank Glazier of Moody Beach, ME aswell as a lengthy list of dear friends and family.

Marie enjoyed many years as a real estate agent in the seacoast of NH before beginning a career with the Department of Treasury.  Aruba was her favorite vacation destination and traveled there frequently with family and friends. An avid Patriots fan, she loved watching games with her children and grandson as often as she could.  Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Jamie.

Friends are invited to visit with Marie's family on Friday October 8 ^th , from 3-6pm at the J.S. Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.  Per Marie's request, her ashes will be scattered at later date by her children and grandson both in New Castle NH and in Aruba.  Flowers are welcome.
