Somersworth -- Mariette Y. Levesque, 81, died, September 12, 2016, after a brief illness.  She was born in Somersworth on September 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Clara (Rivard) LeBel.

Mariette was employed at GE for many years and took time off to raise a family.  She rejoined the workforce for the Somersworth School Department as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1997.

Upon her retirement, she enjoyed 17 years as a resident of New Port Richey, Florida, with her husband, Louis Levesque, of 58 years until his passing in 2015.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, aunt, and friend who loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed swimming, going to the beach, reading, and sewing.

She is survived by her son, David Levesque and his wife Lori of Milton, NH, daughter Michele Maynard of Weymouth MA, daughter Renaie Marquis of Somersworth, four grandchildren: David Jr., Emily, Jamison, and Lukas, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services: A time of visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday, September 16, 2016 at St. Martin Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth. Interment will be held privately.
