Gainesville, Ga- Marilyn Jean Boudreau, 88 of Gainesville GA died Thursday January 12, 2023 at home surrounded by family after a brief illness.
Marilyn was born on October 8, 1934 in Lynn Massachusetts and was the daughter of Armand Bourque, and Emma (Thibeault) She was raised In Massachusetts, attending local boarding Schools, and often spent Summer vacations with her aunt in Prince Edward Island, Canada
Marilyn was a veteran of the United States Army.
As a young adult she was a school teacher in a 2 room school for grades 4-7. She married the love of her life in 1954 Victor Stanley Boudreau. They welcomed 2 of their children into their family while living in Canada. They soon moved to the Somersworth, NH area and welcomed 2 more Children.
She later worked as a private duty Nurse while maintaining her duties as a wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend. Even after she retired she stayed busy, volunteering, attending school field trips with her grandchildren, and often yard-saleing. Marilyn was a faithful and loving family woman, adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family considered her the best "Nana" any family could have. Marilyn enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds, she loved Danielle Steele novels, working in the garden, and watching crime shows.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Victor Stanley Boudreau, and her daughter Marie Claire Lane. Family members include her two sons, Armand Boudreau of Conway, NH and Victor S. Boudreau of Alabama. She leaves a daughter, Estelle Marie Shafer, of Wyoming. 6 grand children, 10 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. All of which adored her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at St. Martin Catholic Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH 03878. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth, NH
The family respectfully declines flowers and request that memorial contributions be made in her name to The American Lung Association. Folders are available through the funeral home. Care of the Boudreau Family has been entrusted to the Bernier/J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
