Obituary

Wells, Maine - Marilynn Hagar, 71, of Wells, Maine passed away peacefully on December 10, 2016 at Exeter Hospital due to complications of breast cancer.

Born in Bangor, Maine on August 11, 1945, she was the eldest daughter of Edward and Annie (Bussell) Hagar. She was raised in Bangor and then Massachusetts before moving to the Seacoast area for most of her adult life. She received her Bachelors degree in English from Southern Maine University and became a teacher.

Marilynn was passionate about the arts and theater. She worked at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre for a number of years managing the front of house. She then worked at the Ogunquit Playhouse for the rest of her career. Marilynn enjoyed writing and most recently explored photography at a local college. She had serious style and wit, and could sing you any musical number or devise the most obscure words in a game of Scrabble.

She is survived by her brother Fred Hagar, brother-in-law Pasquale Cavalieri, nieces Theresa Hagar and Anna Goodkin, nephews Christopher Cavalieri and Dale Hagar, and great-niece and nephew Alyssa Mancini and Matthew McCutcheon. She was predeceased by her parents and younger sister, Joyce Cavalieri, who also died of cancer in 2000 at the age of 51.
