Eliot- Marion E. Raitt, 82 of Cedar Road in Eliot, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Portsmouth on May 21, 1939 a daughter of the late William and Earline E. (Bennett) Cole.

Marion was unrivaled in gardening and took much pride in her beloved flower beds at the home she shared with David ,her husband of  more than sixty years.

She grew up in the Second Christian Congregational Church, UCC in Kittery helping her dad the Sunday School superintendent as a youngster, singing in the Choir, teaching Sunday school and serving on many committees. She also held many offices in the York Rainbow Assembly including Worthy Advisor.

Marion also loved camping and took many special trips with David to her favorite places in the heart of Pennsylvania's Amish country.

She was a great cook and spent many hours in the kitchen making pies, breads and her famous cookies.

Marion really knew how to make every holiday special by adding her personal touch to decorating and baking. She really enjoyed being able to gather the family around the dining room table for a large feast.
