Marlene Catherine Marquis, 82, was born on November 28, 1942 in Rochester, NH and peacefully passed away Feb. 28, 2025 at home in Berwick, ME surrounded by family.

Marlene grew up in Somersworth, NH with her 4 siblings and loving parents, Ada Price and Paul Marquis. She became a young mother of 4 children that she also raised in Somersworth.

While raising her children, Marlene worked tirelessly to provide a cozy home for her family and was a second mother to all of their friends as well. She worked outside of her home for several years at General Electric and retired after many years working at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. Inbetween working and following retirement, she was a nanny for her grandkids and great grandkids which brought her the utmost joy.

Marlene was an incredibly loving, giving, fiercely independent and faithful woman. She spent every bit of her free time with her family and nothing gave her more purpose than her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. She was humble and quiet but when she did speak up she was full of sass and wit with a rumbling contagious laugh. She had a deep faith and intuition and was continuously praying for the safety and well being of everyone dear to her.

"Gram Marquis," was profoundly cherished by her friends and family, as she represented what it means to be completely selfess by living for your family and what is most important in life.

Marlene is survived by her four children Brian and his wife Peggy Boyle, Christopher Boyle, Kerie and her late husband Timothy Crichton, Michelle and her husband Geoff Fox. Her  grandchildren Brian Crichton and his partner Julie Covel, Jordyn Koelker, Erica and her husband Josh Gagnon, Chelsea Boyle and her husband Seth McLaughlin, and Karleigh Fox. As well as her great grandchildren- Kollin, Emreigh, Tanner, Maxine, Charlotte, Benjamin, Molly, Brody, Lena, Ada, Taylor and Hayden.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 8, 2025 at noon at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Catholic Church 120 Maple Street Somersworth, NH 03878.  Care for the Marquis family has been entrusted to the Bernier~Pelkey Funeral Home.
