Obituary

Mary E. Delcourt (Templeton), 84, of Wildwood Lane, Kittery, Maine, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 9th, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Mary was born on October 6th, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the youngest child of the late Walter and Marjorie Templeton. As a young girl, the Templeton family moved to Howland, Maine. In 1960, Mary graduated from Cony High School in Augusta and worked for the State Government Services until 1965.

Mary married Melvin, the love of her life, in October 1965. Together, they raised five children in their Kittery home. Mary was a communicant of St. Raphael's Church and later St. Christopher's Church. She was a devout Roman Catholic who deeply cherished her faith and loved the Church. Mary was active with the Alter Society and served as the Rectory housekeeper for decades. Mary was also involved with Table of Plenty, Meals on Wheels, and, through Melvin, assisted with Knights of Columbus activities. Mary loved to cook and bake. She was exceptional at both. As she was raising her family, Mary was a cake decorator and graduated from the Wilton Academy of Cake Decorators. From scratch, Mary would create a variety of custom-made cakes from simple birthday cakes to elegant wedding cakes. People came from around the Seacoast to receive one of Mary's cakes.

Mary is survived by her children, Raymond and his wife Wendy of South Berwick, ME, and their children, Eleanor and her husband Mathew, and Elizabeth and her husband Kyle; David and his wife Carrie of Nottingham, NH, and their children April and her wife Kendra, Addison, and Olivia; Peter of Brookfield, VT, and his son Pierce; Marjorie and her husband Neil MacLeod of Kittery, ME, and their children Kate, Morgan, and Ayden; Christopher and his wife Stephanie of Kathleen, GA, and their children Brady, Kason, and Graham. Mary is also survived by a brother Walter, sister Joan, and a predeceased sister Jean, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

The family wishes to thank Fr. Mower, Fr. Sway, and all family and friends for their prayers and support. We also wish to thank the nurses and doctors of York Hospital and Beacon Hospice for their love, care, and unwavering dedication. Donations may be made on Mary's behalf to St. Raphael's church in Kittery. The family also wishes to thank the staff at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home and Hillside Flowers, both of Kittery, for their assistance.
