Somersworth - Mary Ann Obyc, went home to heaven, Saturday, June 23rd, 2018. Mary Ann was born April 26, 1938, and grew up in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She graduated from St. Mary ' s Nursing School in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Mary Ann worked in many nursing positions in her younger years. Later in her life, Mary Ann volunteered her time as a hospice aide. She loved making crafts, wedding candles, and other home-made gifts for family and friends. Above all Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (MomMom). She adored her grandchildren; and greatly enjoyed any time she was able to spend with her loving family.
Mary Ann was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Somersworth, New Hampshire; as well as at Sacred Heart Parish of Havertown, Pennsylvania. She devoted many years to church activities, including singing in the choir for 50 years.
Mary Ann touched the lives of so many people - her sweetness, kindness and love for others was to be admired. She will be dearly missed, not only by family, but by all who knew her. Mary Ann ' s light will continue to shine.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Richard J. " Dick " Obyc; son, Mark and spouse Trace Obyc; daughters, Donna and spouse Dave Pettit of Somersworth, NH, Paula and spouse Robert Fowler of Havertown, PA, Kathy and spouse Shawn McCoole of Dover, NH, Monica and spouse Mark Peta of Chester Springs, PA; grandchildren Christian Peta, Alexia Peta, Nichole Peta, Robert Fowler, Mikaela Fowler, Niklaas Fowler, Marina Obyc, Emalee Obyc, Ryan Pettit, Jaimie Pettit, Jessica Pettit, Alexandra Murray, Abigail Murray.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Carriage Hill Assisted Living for the wonderful and loving care Mary Ann received during the final years of her life.

Services: A Memorial Mass will take place as 10:00 am Saturday, July 7, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, St Martin Church, 120 Maple Street, Somersworth, NH. Burial will follow at Mt.
