York – Matthew T. Hood 76 of York died on August 27, 2021 at his home on York Street following a period of failing of failing health.

Born in Portsmouth NH on August 19, 1945 he was the son of the late Matthew Thomas Hood Jr and. Theresa (Regan ) Hood.

Following high school, Matt attended The University of Maine in Orono. Matt enjoyed a long career with the Vallee's Steak House chain, working in Kittery and throughout New England as a manager with the company.

During his time with Vallee's he met and in 1989 married his loving wife of twenty six years,  Joan (Concannon) Hood and together they made York their home.

An avid sports fan, Matt enjoyed everything New England sports related .

He is survived by his loving sister Janice Cerabona of Eliot and her family.

Funeral services were private at Matt's request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to CLOVES Syndrome Community or the American Diabetes Association.
