Maurice J. Payne's Obituary
York, ME – Maurice J. Payne, 88, of York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Clipper Harbor Home in Portsmouth.
He was born on September 28, 1928 in Pennsylvania, a son of Arthur M. and Phelonise A. Payne.
Maurice served in the United States Army as a Private 1st Class.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Public Service Power Plant; he enjoyed lobstering, clamming, cutting firewood and was a great neighbor.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Karas) Payne of York; daughters, Linda Malcomb and Brenda Payne; and a grandson, Shawn.
At Maurices's request, there will be no services. Interment will be held privately at First Parish Cemetery, in the spring.
