Rochester: Melissa Lynn Black, 29, of Rochester passed away July 8, 2013 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital surrounded by many family members and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Rochester January 22, 1984 the daughter of Ralph and Sandra (Hughes) Black. Prior to taking ill, Melissa was an LNA at Rochester Manor. Members of her family include her husband, Michael Leighton, her 6 children to whom she was a loving, devoted mother; Ryan, Robbie, Ricky, Riley, Rebecca and Raylyn. Also, her brothers, Mike, Jessie, Ralph, Shannon and Pat Black as well as her sisters, Sandy Black, Debbie Boisvert, and Sheila Melanson also, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents and parents. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 2pm in Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth, followed by burial in Kimball Cemetery, Rochester.
