Obituary

Michael J. Galimberti, 50, of Wolfeboro, passed away January 23, 2020, after a hard fought battle with bile duct cancer.

Michael was born in Fall River, MA on May 31, 1969, the son of Norman Galimberti Jr. and Rosemarie (D'Alessio) Galimberti.  He grew up in Bristol, RI and moved to New Hampshire during his high school years, graduating from Gilford High School.

Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kimberly (Johnson) Galimberti; his beautiful daughter, the light of his life, Emilia Galimberti; parents Norman and Rosemarie Galimberti of Laconia; his brother Dennis Galimberti of Laconia; sister Shayna Galimberti of Belmont, MA; mother-in-law Pamela Doyle of Wolfeboro; brother-in-law Keith Johnson of Dover; nephews Brandon Galimberti of Laconia and Christopher Johnson of Dover; and nieces Morgan Johnson and Kaitlyn Johnson both of Dover.

Michael's professional life followed his passions and his personality. He was both curious and compassionate by nature and found outlets for his many interests and need for community service.

Michael was an entrepreneur at heart. His major business adventures ranged from HVAC refrigeration, telemarketing, landscaping, barbecue concession and catering, and photography.

His love for fighting fires began in 2001 when he began volunteering for Middleton Fire. He advanced his skills to Firefighter II while working for Farmington Fire. In 2008, he went to Iraq to work as a contract firefighter and began working for Pease Fire upon his return in the fall of 2008. After moving to Wolfeboro in 2016, he became a call firefighter for Wolfeboro Fire. He continued his service in both departments until his illness. A strong sense of brotherhood ran deep in his veins.

His hobbies included drone flying, fishing, hunting, farming, bee keeping, and motorcycle riding. Michael was an active member of the Red Knights NH #2 motorcycle club which allowed him to participate in one of his favorite hobbies and serve the community. Through the club, Michael contributed to several charities, including Honor Flight New England, Sarah's Ride, and the Lt. Chris DeWolf Scholarship. Michael was also an avid drummer. His interest was sparked while watching his father drum as a young boy. He was a member of the band Forte from 1990-1995 and several other bands throughout the years. He began drumming for church services at the First Congregational Church of Ossipee in 2018.

Michael was a considerate, jovial, caring person who enjoyed helping others. For his last thoughtful contribution, Michael participated in the Last Wish Program, giving of himself to support cutting edge research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

A memorial service with full firefighter honors will be Friday, January 31, 2020 at the First Congregational Church of Ossipee at 11:00am.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com .
