In Loving Memory of Michael Leeman

September 27, 1982 – October 19, 2026

Michael Leeman, lovingly known as “Droopy” and “Monkey Mike,” passed away on October 19, 2026. Born on September 27, 1982, Michael grew up in North Berwick, Maine, spent many years living in Lewiston, and was living in North Berwick at the time of his passing.

To those who knew him, the nicknames “Droopy” and “Monkey Mike” held special meaning and brought back cherished memories. “Droopy” came from the days Michael spent picking berries and doing chores. He would often droop along, not particularly enjoying the work but doing it anyway. Over time, these nicknames became treasured parts of the stories and memories shared by family and friends.

Michael worked at the Firefly Diner for many years and later joined the staff at York’s Wild Animal Kingdom, where he remained employed at the time of his passing.

Michael leaves behind his beloved son, Daimen; his parents, Sandy and Wayne; his sister, Nichole; and his brothers, Kyle, Wayne, Stephen, and Corey. He also leaves behind his three nieces, Hannah, Lissi, and Maggie, and his nephews, Colter and Taylen.

Michael’s life was woven into a family filled with shared experiences, stories, and memories that will continue to live on through the people who loved him. Though his passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, the memories of Michael and the moments shared with him will remain forever in the hearts of his family and loved ones.

Michael will be remembered in his own special way through the stories told, the laughter shared, and the memories that will never fade. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His services will be held on Sunday, November 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 88 Quarry Road, North Berwick, Maine.
