Kittery, Maine - Michael Lee Smith, 64, Passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 at his home in Kittery, ME of sudden heart failure, with his family by his side. Just shy of his 65th birthday. He was born March 21, 1953 in Lynn Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Isabelle and Harry Smith. Michael grew up in Lynn Massachusetts and was one of four children. He moved to California at the end of his teenage years, where he had his first marriage that bore two children. Later he returned to New England where he remarried to his wife Angela and had his third son, Tyler. He was a resident of several towns in NH, MA and ME. His professional career consisted of a wide range of jobs ; from bartending, his favorite profession and passion, to truck driving, working for the state of Massachusetts and various other professions throughout the years. Michael also had dreams of playing baseball in the major leagues as a catcher. Sadly due to several injuries he gave up his pursuits. He still carried a love for the game and sports in general . Watching every game, routing for his favorite New England teams. Michael also enjoyed history, blues and rock music, politics and had an curiosity for all things strange or obscure.  Michael is survived by his wife, Angela F.Smith ; his three sons, Tyler, Brian and Andrew Smith ; his sister Patricia Wheaton ; and his two brothers, Larry and Kenneth Smith.

SERVICES: A celebration of Michaels life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Bunratty Tavern on 620 Main St, Reading, MA. All are welcome to join the family and friends for a drink and share story in remembrance of Michael Lee Smith.  Care for the Smith family has been entrusted to JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
