Obituary

SCARBOROUGH/KITTERY: Millylou Davis (Hodgdon) Morse, 91, beloved Mother, Grand-mother and Great-Grandmother, and widow of Norman E. "Skip" Morse, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2016, 39 years to the day since her husband died. Millylou passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough, Maine with her daughters Paula and Judy and their respective husbands Peter and Damon by her side.

When her daughters were young girls, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for over 10 years and also served on the Kittery-Eliot Girl Scout Council. To this day, many of her Scouts remember wonderful summers at Camp Scelkit in Kittery Point with Millylou teaching crafts, first aid, swimming, and cooking. She was an accomplished seamstress and made each of her daughter's wedding gowns as well as much of their clothing. She dabbled in art and enjoyed stenciling, painting birdhouses and decorating her beautiful home. An accomplished gardener, she spent many happy hours in her yard, enjoying the beauty of the flowers and trees that she so lovingly planted and nurtured. She was a voracious reader and challenged herself to completing several crossword puzzles every week. Her loving spirit and kind heart touched everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

She enjoyed a long and rewarding career in the banking industry beginning with Community Trust Company in Kittery and then with Maine National Bank/First National Bank. She was branch manager of the office located at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and then Customer Relations Manager at the branch in Eliot. She retired from banking with 27 years of service.

Her children were the love of her life and she is survived by them: daughter Judy and husband Damon Kenison of Boscawen, NH, granddaughter Sally Kenison Fisher and husband Mike, and great-granddaughter Brittany; grand-son Frederick Kenison and wife Susan, and great granddaughter Kristin and great grand-son Michael; grand-daughter Nancy Kenison Corbett and husband Brett, and grand-daughter Abigail and grandson Damon; daughter Paula and husband Peter Anderson of Scarborough, ME and Hobe Sound, FL, grandson Scott Bromfield and his life partner Sarah Powell; daughter Carol and husband Dennis Lundberg of Raleigh, NC, grand-daughter Meredith Lundberg and great grand-daughters Addyson and Josie Gilpatrick, grand daughter Hilary Lundberg Mikowicz and husband Mike. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by a special "almost-daughter", Frances Roberts of New Mexico.

She was predeceased by her dear brother John "Jack" Davis and her sister, Donalyne Poudrier, and her brother-in-law Roger "Red" Morse.

At her request, there will be no funeral and a private family only burial.

Memorial contributions in Millylou's memory may be made to Girl Scout Camp Scelkit of Kittery Point for a permanent flagpole to be installed up on the hill where she loved starting the day with all her "girls" with morning ceremony or to Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.
