Obituary

Eliot-Minnie F. Davis of Dixon Ave in Eliot, died on March 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 20, 1927 on Bell Island, Newfoundland Canada, she was the daughter of Jacob and Gladys (Ralph) Noseworthy. When she graduated from high school, she came to live in Portsmouth New Hampshire. She married her late husband Albert E. Davis in 1946 and were married fifty eight years when he passed away in 2004. They lived in Eliot most of their lives and raised their three children on Dixon Avenue. Over the years she was employed by the Colonial Cleaners, W.T. Grants Department Store and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, retiring in 1989. Minnie was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #188 of Eliot and a member of Sarah Orne Jewett Chapter #176 O. E. S. of South Berwick. She is survived by her loving family, daughters;Joan M. Pelkey and her life partner Dennis Gaffney of Eliot and Anita G Bradstreet and her husband Charles of Eliot and her son Thomas A Davis of Kittery, grandchildren Jeffrey S. Pelkey and his wife Julia of Eliot and their son Justin M. Pelkey, Jennifer L Cray and her husband Ricky of Springvale and their sons Michael, Ryan and Garrett, Jonathan Bradstreet and his fiancée Kerry Collins of Eliot, Kendra Davis and her partner Christian Dionne of Dover and many nieces and nephews including a nephew Jacob Morgan and his wife Donna of Newfoundland. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Clarke and Margaret Morgan, a brother Stead Noseworthy and her beloved granddaughter Kayla Davis. A memorial service will be celebrated on March 26, 2016 at 11am in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904 with the Rev Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice, the Boston Childrens Hospital 401 Park Drive Suite 602 Boston, MA 02215 or to the NHSPCA PO Box 196 Stratham NH 03885-0196.
