She was a passionate supporter of Special Olympics of Maine, and over the years single handedly collecting returnable cans totaling over 13 thousand dollars to donate to Special Olympics and many other charitable organizations. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed many social activities at the Kittery Community Center.
