Obituary

Kittery- Nancy Olson, 75 of Macdougal Street in Kittery died on October 17,2015 at her home following a long period of failing health. Born on July 18,1940 in Pittsfield, Ma, she was a daughter to the late T. Richard and Elberta M. ( Moran ) Stodden. She attended local schools, graduating from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1958. Following high school she attended and graduated from hair dressing school, specializing in wig design. She took her talents to Phoenix where she worked for a time before returning home to New England in 1964. Nancy began a career as a supervisor with Berkshire Gas for many years. She met and in 1977 married her loving husband of thirty eight years Leonard Olson. Together they spent time in Indiana while Leonard worked, before making their home on the Seacoast, living and working in and around Hampton for many years. Together they owned and operated a local Hampton Beach Hotel before they retired. Nancy was a very active member of the Hampton community enjoying membership in the Hampton Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school, she also enjoyed serving as a Boy and Girl Scout Leader as well as 4H. They moved to Kittery where they continued to raise their family and enjoy their community nearly twenty three years ago. A talented artist she enjoyed all types of crafts and was a wonderful painter, sharing her products with family and friends and at local craft fairs and the like. Nancy is survived by her loving family, her husband Leonard of Kittery, children Lisa Olson, Karin Olson, Leann and Bill O'Brien, and Erik and Alexandra Olson and their families.
