Natalie Webber
Mccarty
Mar 1, 1928 — Feb 26, 2023
Kittery - Natalie Webber McCarty of Kittery, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, just before her 95 th birthday on March 1. She was the daughter of the late Adelbert M. Webber and Helen Frances Kulick Webber, also of Kittery, ME. She was predeceased by her twin sister Rosalie Webber, who died at birth, her brother Merle T. Webber of Greenville, N.C., and her former husband Fred H. McCarty of Palm Harbor, FL.
She is survived by three sons, Stephen of Wakefield, R.I., Kevin and wife Kim of Arnold, MO., Brian and wife Kathy of Midlothian, VA., six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well as her caregiver and companion of many years who she thought of as a daughter, Betty Dodge of Kittery, ME.
She graduated high school as valedictorian from R.W. Traip Academy in 1945. Natalie resided in Kittery most of her life, with short residencies in Camp Lejeune, N.C., Long Island, N.Y., and San Diego, CA. before returning to Kittery in the early 1960's. Natalie remained there until her final time at Benchmark Senior Living in Rye, N.H. During her time in Kittery, Nat worked as a dental clinic receptionist, and a supply buyer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before retiring from federal service.
Natalie was a devoted mother and daughter. She was always there when anyone needed her, was soft spoken, and had a great sense of humor. As a young girl, Nat enjoyed sports, school activities and sailing with her father. Her interest in sports carried on through later life as she followed baseball, football, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Her greatest relaxation in life was to take a drive down to York Beach and the Nubble Lighthouse to take in the Maine coastline and enjoy an ice cream, or to work on a jigsaw or crossword puzzle with a race on the TV.
Private services will be held at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth, N.H.
Special thanks are offered to her caregivers, Betty Dodge, and the staff at Benchmark at Rye Senior Living who took such good care of her.
