Kittery- Norman Averill,74 died on February 17,2015 at York Hospital surrounded by his family. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in June of 2013 where he worked for twenty six years as a Sheet-metal mechanic. He was an excellent mechanic and auto-body man with a love for his family, car shows and working in his garage. Norman is survived by his loving family, his wife Esther Averill with whom he would have celebrated fifty five years of marriage on September 30, his children Richard Averill of Kittery, Maine, Bonnie and Frederick Chick Jr of Abbott, Maine and Julie and Dennis Robillard of Eliot, Maine, grandchildren; Amanda and Chris Buehne of Parkman, Maine, Frederick Chick III and Jonathan Chick of South Berwick, Richard Averill Jr. and Lyndsey of Berwick, Maine, and Caitlyn Averill and Brandon of Dover, NH, Tyler and Jillian Robillard of Eliot , two great granddaughters Grace and Bella Buehne of Parkman, Maine , his siblings Gail Crook, and her husband Peter of Whitefield , Maine, Paulette Beers and her husband Gary of Kittery and Tommy Averill and his wife Karen both of Kittery. Also surviving are many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends . he was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Pauline Averill and his sister Suzanne Watt. In honor of his wishes there will be no services. If desired memorial donations, may be made in his memory to a charity of ones choice.
