Obituary

Norman R. Doucet, 82, of Somersworth, NH passed away on April 21, 2014. Originally from Berlin, NH, Norman graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1949, then went on to earn a BS degree from UNH and later serve in the US Army.
Norman retired from his position as a cost and budget analyst at GE in 1994. Throughout his life, he was an active participant in various volunteer organizations, serving local schools, church and community. Norman was an avid outdoorsman, woodworker and gardener, who found particular enjoyment in trout fishing along the Androscoggin River. After retiring, he took great pleasure in exploring the US National Parks with his wife, Jeannette.
Norman is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Jeannette (Lapointe) Doucet, also a Berlin native. He is also survived by his three children and their respective families: Eldest son, Richard Doucet and his wife, Nancy; daughter Melanie (Doucet) Ketelhohn, her husband Bob and their two daughters, Hannah and Lindsay; and youngest son, William Doucet, his wife, Sharon and their two sons, Nicholas and Henri. Norman also leaves behind his brother Robert, sister-in-law Pauline and their four children.
Calling hours will be held on Friday April 25th, from 9:30 to 10:30am in Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St. Somersworth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Church, Somersworth with Rev. Michael S. Taylor, pastor as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Somersworth.
