Pamela Anne
Smith
Oct 26, 1946 — Dec 15, 2017
Pamela Anne (Rozett) Smith died on December 15, 2017. Pam was born on October 26, 1946, to Elizabeth (Sally Meskers) and William Rozett Jr. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Flynn (Parnell) and Gregory Smith (Kim); grandchildren Baxter, Desmond, Ian, and Kenley; former husband William F. Smith; younger siblings Peter, William, and Patricia; niece Jackie and nephew Matthew; as well as her favorite Aunt Alice and close friend Marge. She is preceded in death by her parents and her longtime companion, John McClymont.
Pam grew up in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School. She spent many summers in Maine at Camp Moy-Mo-Dä-Yo as a camper and counselor.
Pam briefly attended Mass Bay Community College and worked as a bank teller at the Boston 5 and Stoneham Coop banks. She eventually got a job at the IRS in North Andover, where she worked for 20 years.
In 1968, Pam married William Smith. They resided in the northern suburbs of Boston, spending most of their marriage in Reading, where they raised their two children. After her retirement Pam lived in Southern Maine and Florida.
Pam liked to keep busy. Her house was so clean she could have hosted the Queen of England any day of the week. She maintained beautiful gardens in her yard and often did needlepoint. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties and holidays at her home, and she liked to organize office celebrations whenever a retirement party or baby shower was called for. Every big gathering was an opportunity to make a pie.
Pam called her kids and every other small child she met by pet names, "dahlin'" and "honey bunny" being favorites. She loved the smell of the ocean and sitting on the beach to "get some color." Her summer tan often lasted until Christmas.
Services: A reception honoring Pam's life will be held in the function room of Kittery Estates in Kittery, Maine, on December 29th at 2pm. A separate celebration is scheduled for this summer; this page will be updated at a later date with details. In lieu of flowers, Pam asked that donations be made to St. Jude's Memorial Hospital. Care for the Smith family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
