Panaiotis Drakopoulos' Obituary
Somersworth – Panaiotis "Peter" Drakopoulos, 84, of Somersworth, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 22, 1931 in Ariohori, Greece a son of the late Christos and Sophia (Janekos) Drakopoulos.
In Greece, Mr. Drakopoulos started a small newspaper stand which grew to a grocery store. He and his wife, Arhonto (Houliras) emigrated from Greece in 1977. Mr. Drakopoulos went to work at Clarostat Manufacturing Co. in Dover and also Villa Pizza in Somersworth.
He was a hardworking man who always made sure he provided for his family and was a dedicated, and loving husband, father and grandfather; family always coming first.
Beside his loving wife, Arhonto (Houliras) Drakopoulos, survivors include his sons, Christos Drakopoulos and his wife, Jessica of Somersworth, and James Drakopoulos and his wife, Jodie of Berwick, ME; four grandchildren (to them he was "Papou"), Peter and Tony Drakopoulos of Somersworth and Sophia and Emily Drakopoulos of Berwick, ME; brother, Bobby Drakopoulos of Greece and sisters, Eleni Stergiou and Themi Zouzaneas both of Greece; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pamela Schultze, Cocheco Dialysis and Cornerstone VNA for the wonderful care they provided.
Services: A wake will be held from 4-6PM on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Dormition of The Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Tate's Brook Road, Somersworth. Interment will follow at the Greek Cemetery, Somersworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dormition of The Virgin Mary, Greek Orthodox Church, Somersworth.Funeral Services for Panaiotis Drakopoulos
