Eliot- Patricia R. Cress, 88 of Moses Gerrish Farmer Road in Eliot, born May 30, 1932 to the late Celia A. and Gilbert M. Lonsway in Portsmouth, N.H. She grew up in Kittery, Maine and graduated from R.W. Traip Academy in 1949. She met and married Philip C. Cress in 1950 and together they raised their six children in Eliot and at their camp in Milton, N.H. Pat taught Sunday School at the First Congregational Church Eliot, UCC where she was a member, joined the Churches Ladies Circle, was a Cub Scout leader and was a member of the Eliot Ladies Fire Auxiliary. After the children were grown, Pat worked at Boulter's Oil and Insurance in Kittery until the business was sold. In 1978, Pat started work part time at the Eliot Town Office, became Deputy Town Clerk and in 1995 became Town Clerk, Tax Assessor, Agent for Motor Vehicles and Registrar of Voters until 2004 when she retired.
Pat was an avid reader and loved to knit and crochet but her most important love was her family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; sons; Richard and Heidi, Timothy and Dawn, Donald and Donna, and daughter Robin and her husband Timothy Belanger, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, 5 nephews, and several step-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty two years, Philip C. Cress, son Philip (Skip), daughter Bonnie Cress-Bouchard, sister Geraldine Ball, and brother Donald Lonsway.
