Kittery- Patricia (Teese) Grace Smykowski, 79, passed away on June 4, 2015 at Durgin Pines in Kittery. She died from complications of chronic lung disease. Pat was on born in Kittery in 1936 to Richard and Mildred (Thomas) Leary. She grew up attending Kittery schools and graduated from Traip Academy in 1954. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Smykowki. Together they made their home in Kittery. Pat loved shopping with her friends, socialing and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed time in her beautiful flower gardens. Pat and Rick traveled around New England in their R.V. visiting many camporees over the years. More recently, she occuppied her time by watching the array of birds at the feeders outside her windows. Pat was a member of the Women of the Moose and a dedicated volunteer and trustee at the Kittery Historical and Naval Society/Museum. She spent many years as the membership chairperson and most recently the volunteer co-ordinator for the Society. As a volunteer, Pat loved to greet visitors to the Museum and talk about Kittery's history. As well as her husband, she is survived by a daughter Kim Sanborn and her husband Ralph of Kittery and a daughter Rhonda Gademsky and her husband Jeffrey of Littleton, NH. Pat had four grandchildren, Stephanie Dunn and her husband Derek, Tricia Sanborn, Jeffrey and Emma Gademsky. She is predeceased by a sister Marlene, her son Dale Richard and a baby daughter. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory can be made to the Kittery Historical & Naval Museum or York Hospital Hospice. Care for the Smykowski family has ben entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
