SOMERSWORTH- Paul Spellman 80, passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 30, 2015. Paul was born on August 27, 1935 in Rochester, to his loving parents Maurice and Georgianna Spellman. Paul was a life long resident of the Seacoast area, living in Somersworth with his loving wife of 56 years Joan Spellman. They raised two sons Sean and Marc Spellman. Paul was well known in the community owning two different shoe stores in the Somersworth area. Paul also was Mayor of the city from 1974 to 1975. He also was a city council member for 8 years working to make a positive impact in the city. Paul is survived by his wife, Joan Spellman, of Somersworth, NH, his sons, Sean Spellman, of North Berwick, ME, Marc Spellman of Somersworth, NH, a sister, Sandra Spellman of Somersworth, NH , and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will occur on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 11:00 am with visiting taking place an hour prior at 10:00am at St. Martin's Church located at 120 Maple St., Somersworth, NH. In lieu of flowers the Spellman family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choosing. Care of the Spellman family has been entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home in Somersworth, NH.
