Paula Dougherty, 70, passed away on October 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Paula spent many years working with the York School District, where her kindness touched everyone she met. Outside of work, she found joy in quilting and crafting; she was always making something beautiful, and even more often, giving it away. Her handmade gifts were stitched with care and became treasures for those lucky enough to receive them. Paula was the heart of every celebration, the one who made people feel welcome, who filled a room with warmth and laughter, and who always found a way to make ordinary days feel special.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Dougherty; her children, Ryan (Kate) Dougherty, Shelley (Eddy) Fitzgerald, and Lindsey (Pat) Gavin; and her cherished grandchildren, Genny, Aly, and Jacky Fitzgerald. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Hamilton, and brother, Gary Fisher — and by the family's loyal black lab, Tucker.

At her request, there will be no formal service. A private remembrance of life gathering will be held for family and close friends.

Paula's generous heart and joyful spirit will live on in the love she gave, the family she raised, and the many lives she brightened along the way. She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
