Obituary

Ralph (Bud) Booth of Wolfeboro, NH passed away peacefully on June 14th surrounded by his wife Betsy, children, and grandchildren.   He was 91 years old.

Bud was a proud graduate and supporter of the University of New Hampshire, where he studied Agricultural Engineering. He went on to establish his own farm, Green Dream Farm, in Lee, NH, and to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Jersey Cattle Club. From the earliest days of the farm, he went out of his way to provide opportunities for students to establish themselves in the NH farming community, and to exchange ideas with the faculty. His impact is felt to this day in the small NH agricultural community.

He and Betsy retired to Wolfeboro after selling the farm. They were wrapped in the warm embrace of the community, and Bud enjoyed co-founding the Lakes Region Curling Club with some of his closest friends.

Bud was an only child, but went on to have five children of his own, and took particular delight in teaching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to fish, mess around in boats, and generally to love life. He is survived by his wife, Betsy, five children, a beloved nephew who was another son to him, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

When not in the fields or on the water, he loved to spend time at his small cabin on Indian Stream Road in Pittsburgh, NH. Called "Whiskey Jack" (after the bird, not the alcohol) it was the site of many good times with family and friends.

Bud was a private person, and did not want a funeral or memorial service. The family will receive visits from close friends and family at their home in Wolfeboro on July 4th which was one of Bud's favorite holidays.
