Obituary

Eliot- Ralph A. Richardson Jr, 93 of Eliot Maine and Alexandria New Hampshire died on November 10, 2018 on the 243rd Birthday of The United States Marine Corps, at his sons home in Alexandria New Hampshire where he was blessed to make his home and share his final time with family .
Born in Eliot Maine on May 6, 1925 he was a son of the late Ralph A. Sr. And Florence ( Bryant ) Richardson. He attended local schools graduation from Eliot High School in 1943. He served for many years as a committee member of the Eliot Alumni Association as well as secretary and President.
He met and in 1951 married his loving wife Elizabeth (Learnard) Richardson and together they enjoyed sixty-two years nine months and thirteen days of marriage in their home in Eliot where they raised their family.
Ralph proudly served his country as a United States Marine in World War Two from 1943-1946 . He was a Charter Member of Eliot American Legion Post #188 and a member of the Marine Corps League.
Ralph worked for thirty eight years at Colonial Cleaners in Portsmouth working his way up to Vice President of the Corporation, leaving at age sixty to work on the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for four years until retirement.
Ralph was a foundation member of the Eliot United Methodist Church serving on nearly every committee and lawn mower for over forty years both in South Eliot and on Route 236. He was an active member of the Eliot Lions Club serving as secretary / treasurer and on many committees for many years. He also served as president and as a coach for the Eliot Little League for over thirteen years. Ralph loved to golf both at The Wentworth and Exeter, enjoyed his Boston Red Sox and winters for many years in the Kissimmee area of Florida.
Ralph is survived by his sons Ralph J. Richardson and his wife Sara and Bryan and his wife Debbie Richardson , eight grand and three great grand children. He was predeceased by his loving wife Betty, and a grandson Mark.
A funeral and military honors will be celebrated on Friday November 16, 2018 at 11am in the Eliot United Methodist Church on Rte 236 in Eliot. Care for the Richardson family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home.
