Obituary

Raymond A. Charbonneau, 79, of Somersworth died February 17, 2012 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital following a period of failing health. He was born in Dover, November 29, 1932 the son of Damase and Olivine (Soucy) Charbonneau. He lived in Dover until 1958 Ray took great pride in having served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church, Somersworth. Ray had worked and made many friends at the A & P Store, Simplex, Moore Business Forms and most notably, Market Basket in Somersworth. He loved spending time with his family, traveling & woodworking. Ray was a member of the South Berwick Senior Center and the American Legion. Members of his family include his wife of 53 years, Evelyn (Palioca) Charbonneau, His daughters, Deborah (Mrs. Richard) Wood of Somersworth and Lynn (Mrs. Scott) Peters of Berwick, his son, Dale and his wife Diane Charbonneau of Lebanon, Me., his four grandchildren, Adam Holmes, Brock Holmes, Lindsey Wood and Michael Peters, also his 2 great grandchildren, Rowen and Brady Holmes. Several nieces and nephews also survive Ray. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 in Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at12:30 pm Tuesday at St. Ignatius Parish in Holy Trinity Church, 404 High St. Somersworth with Rev. Michael S. Taylor, pastor as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Dover. For those who wish, contributions may be made to either: the St. Ignatius Parish (Holy Trinity Church) Building Fund or to the St. Jude s Children s Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Bernier Funeral Home, Somersworth.
