Raymond A. Hamel , 8 6 , passed away at Wentworth Douglas Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 11 , 2023 .  Born in Somersworth, NH on Feb . 2, 1937 , he was the son of the late Alphonse Hamel and Euphrasia (Doyon) Hamel.

Raymond earned an Associate's Degree in Hospitality Management an d spent much of his early career working at Dunfey Hotels on the seacoast. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Emporium Framing and Gallery in South Berwick, ME for 20 years with his wife Suzanne.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister , Vivian Dunlap.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Suzanne L. Pretty-Hamel of Farmington , his two daughters, Denise Bill and her husband Don ald of Lebanon, ME , and Susan Tremblay and her husband Gary of Wakefield. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren , Jennifer Downs and her husband Derek of Rochester, Christopher Bill and his wife Alicia of Brentwood, Ashley Perez and her husband Jonah of Rochester, and Jessica Baker and her husband Garrett of Lebanon, ME; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
