Obituary

Dover- Raymond E. Hutchins, 85 of Maple Suites in Dover, formerly a long time resident of Eliot and Berwick Maine died on January 1, 2018 at Bellamy Fields in Dover with his family at his side.
Born and raised in Kittery Maine, he attended local schools, including R.W. Traip Academy. He enjoyed sixty three years of marriage to his high school sweet heart Jacquelyn F. ( Hutchings) Hutchins. Together they settled in Eliot and raised their family.
He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for nearly thirty nine years retiring as the head of the welding lab.
Ray enjoyed the camp he and friends built on Moose Pond in Denmark Maine for a number of years and later built a camp for his family to enjoy for many years on Square Pond. An avid golfer he enjoyed the Portsmouth Country Club, The Links at Outlook and Provence Lake Golf Courses.
He was a talented wood worker, from remodeling camp to making the Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby Tracks and Klondike Derby Sleds to radio controlled boats, along with fine antique clocks even hand drawing and restoring the faces.
He is survived by is loving wife Jacquelyn Hutchins of Dover, sons Mark and his wife Stephanie Hutchins of Eliot and Eric Hutchins of Portsmouth, grandchildren Christopher, Nicole and Vanessa and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at 11am in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904.
