Portsmouth, NH - Richard F. Burns, age 75, passed away on July 25 ^th , 2022. He was born August 1, 1946 in Brentwood, NH.  He grew up in the South End of Portsmouth, NH. He was the son of the late Raymond and Lucille Burns.

He is survived his loving wife, Elaine H. Burns; by 5 children: Richard Burns and Patrick Burns of Germany; Paul A. Main of Sanford, ME.; Norman R. Burns of Dover, NH.; Christopher J. Main and his wife Carlee of South Portland, ME. Rick loved his 6 grandchildren - Anthony Main, Shane Main, Brittney Main, Austin Main, Brady Main, and Taylor Main.  They all called him Poppop.  Rick had a great grandchild named Isaac. He is survived by multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews, who he really loved and enjoyed harassing and spending time with during their yearly reunions.  He was always a joker! His special times were when he went fishing with Jim and John, his nephews.

Richard served in the Army from 1964-1967 and worked for Goodwin Oil Company for twenty years. He then worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, prior to starting his own Landscaping Business, Burns Yard Work LLC.  Rick enjoyed helping so many families create beautiful flower beds and gardens.

Richard loved riding his motorcycle throughout the country with his wife Elaine.

After they retired, Richard and Elaine both loved camping and traveling with their RV.

Richard became a Catholic after years of attending Sunday mass with his wife.  Rick was a devoted person to his religion and loved serving Jesus by being a Eucharistic Minister at Church

Services:  A wake will be held at J. S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine from 5pm–7pm on Tuesday, 08/02.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary's church at 71 Lowell St Rochester NH at 11:00 am on Wednesday 08/03.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Edgewood Center Resident Recreation Fund, 928 South St, Portsmouth, NH 03801.  For more information or to leave online condolences please visit www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com .
