Richard A. Cress "Rick"
67, of Eliot, born, 06/24/1955, died in his home on Wednesday, 10/05/2022, surrounded by his loving family after a long debilitating illness. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Cress.
Richard was a long-time resident of Eliot. He graduated from Marshwood High School. He also enlisted in the military reserves for several years. He worked for multiple banks for many years. His last job, where he retired from, he worked at the Commissary on the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
He was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by many including his family, friends and anyone who knew him. He had a love for music which included Frank Sinatra, The Rat Pack, James Taylor and Fleetwood Mac. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, making people laugh, and sitting outside by a nice fire. He loved spending time outside in the hot sun with his dog, Meeko, who has been his companion since his illness started. His grandchildren were his everything and they meant the world to him. He loved, in his later years, cocktail hour and sitting in the living room with his wife, Heidi, with candles lit, cuddling on the couch while watching movies. One of his favorite sayings was, "For the love of God!"
Richard is predeceased by his Mother, Patricia Cress, Father, Philip Cress, his Uncle, Don Lonsway, his Aunt, Geraldine Ball, his brother, Philip "Skip" Cress and his sister, Bonnie Cress-Bouchard.
Richard is survived by his son Erich Cress of Washington; his son Ryan and his wife Adrianne Cress of Portsmouth; his step-daughter Christina and her husband, Adam Iovanna of Eliot; his step-son, Erik and Bethany Logsdon-Houppert of New York; and his step-son, Matthew Farrand of Eliot. His siblings, Tim Cress and Dawn Howarth of North Berwick; his brother Don and his wife Donna Cress of South Berwick; his sister Robin and her husband Tim Belanger of North Berwick. He has several grandchildren; Emma, Lucy, Loa, Vinnie, Jackson, Pippa, Solace, Eliza, Finn and his step-granddaughter Ella.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday October 9, 2022 at 2pm in the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904.
