Rochester NH - Richard Jean DuBois, 82, of Rochester passed away on October 18, 2021 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. Born on April 23, 1939 in Dover, a son to Jean Charles and Marie Ann (Poisson) DuBois.

Richard proudly served his country in the military, first in the Army, then in the Air Force, then the Coast Guard and Air National Guard before ultimately retiring. He also served as a police officer in the town of Somersworth. Richard's true passion was the great outdoors. He was an avid hiker and lover of nature, and was a AMC Appalachian Club.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Lucille DuBois; his children, David and wife Linda DuBois, and Michelle DuBois and partner Andrew Dipietro; his grandchildren, Brendan DuBois, Kyle DuBois, Saige Oftedal, and Harrison Jutras; three great grandchildren with one more on the way; and his beloved cat Arya.

Richard is predeceased by his parents and his brother Donald DuBois.

Following cremation, a funeral mass will be held on Friday October 29 at St. Martin Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Somersworth at 11am. A burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Richards's name be made to the Hyder House at 276 County Farm Road, Dover NH 03820 or to an animal shelter of your choice.
