ELIOT, Maine - Richard "Dick" Godfrey Goodale Jr. passed away March 11th, 2016 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after a long illness.
He was born December 18th, 1944, to the late Richard G. Sr.,and Florence (Woods) Goodale in Beverly, MA. He was then raised in Middleton, MA.
Dick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968, with and honorable discharge as a SGT E-4. He graduated from Masconomet High School in 1962, following with 2 years of College in Accounting. He began his career at the Bostich Company in Middleton, MA, and later followed the transition of this company (Bailey's Inc) to Seabrook, NH. In 1984 he began working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring in 2007 as a Data Control Tech.
He was an avid reader, and a member of the William Fogg Library in Eliot. He also enjoyed his classic-cars, and antiquing;as well as his front porch, where he greeted all the neighbors.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pauline C. Goodale of Eliot; three sisters, Christine Cooper and husband Curtis of NC;Linda Glover and husband Mark of Beverly, MA; Karen Frances and husband David of FL; and several nieces and nephews
Services: A Memorial Visitation will take place Saturday, April 9,2016, at JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME, from 1pm-3pm, with a Military Graveside Service taking place directly following at at Brooks Memorial Park on State Road in Eliot, ME.
