York - Richard Allan McNeil, 74; of Burch Hill Rd in York passed away peacefully at the Clipper Home in Portsmouth on August 17, 2015. Born on December 30, 1940 in Pittsfield, Ma; he was the son of the late Donald I. McNeil and Claire McNeil Williamson. Richard worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 20+ years as a machinist. Richard loved his family and animals, being a member of the pigeon fliers club, building homes, and was an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. Richard is predeceased by his mother Claire, father Donald, wife Beverly McNeil, and a son-in-law, Al. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 19 years Harriet; three daughters, Wendy Thompson of Cape Neddick, ME, twins June Pauquette of Dover, NH and Joanne McNeil of Rochester, NH; sister Diane Fusco and her husband Robert of Portland, ME; brother Gerry Williamson and wife Linda of Portland, ME; uncle Richard McNeil of California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be Friday August 21, 2015 at JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery ME, from 10am to 12n, with a funeral service starting at 12n. The family invites all to attend a luncheon at Cape Neddick Baptist Church following the services at 34 River Rd, Cape Neddick, ME.
