Ossipee - Richard C. Smith of Ossipee, N.H. passed away peacefully on October 28.

Richard was born in Portsmouth, N.H, the son of Carroll and Edith Smith-Ward.  He served in the National Guard for years. He owned and operated Pete's Pizzeria in upstate New York. After returning to N.H., he joined Local 104, IBEW, and became a journeyman lineman. After retiring, he pursued his dream of working with horses becoming a trail guide for Castle in the Clouds. Richard owned Skyview Stables, raising and boarding horses. His pride and joy was breeding his racehorse, Holly's favorite. He won numerous races at Rockingham Track and Suffolk Downs. In his free time he loved tending to his extensive gardens and caring for his dogs.

He leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Elizabeth (Marconi)Smith. He is also survived by his daughter Cheryl Smith, of Dallas, Texas, brother Ron and wife Kim, brother Larry Ward and wife Stephanie and sister in law, Ann Smith. Per Richard's request, there will be no services.
