Hampton, New Hampshire - Richard Paul Zimmerman, 74, of Tuck Rd. Hampton NH passed away on February 29th after a long battle of declining health due to Alzheimer's.
He was born on August 16, 1941 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was the youngest of three children. He went on to attend Purdue University and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. He received a Bachelor's of Arts in Production and Direction from NYU and later received a master's from NYU in Higher Education Administration.
He worked for Maine Public Broadcasting for several years and tinkered in several different kinds of jobs after that. Richard enjoyed music, reading and being in the great outdoors. He loved to travel in his RV and enjoyed seeing the mountains all over the country. Richard is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Iafolla, her husband, John Iafolla, and their two children, Dominic and Gabrielle of Rye, New Hampshire. His sister, Margaret Cox, her husband Gene, of Wisconsin and brother, Ronald from Florida along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Loreena and father, Myers.
Services will be held in the spring. Donations may be made in his memory to Compasses Hospice and Palliative Care in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
